When The Dove Cries

Gen 8:8-13

Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the

face of the ground;

But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into

the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his

hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark.

And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the

ark;

And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf

pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.

And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the dove; which returned not

again unto him any more.

Eph 4:30

And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of

redempIon.

While reading through some religious material that was prepared by some

Religious  scholars, a defini;on was stumbled upon that they gave for the

Holy Spirit. They defined in this par;cular journal as; 'the acIve force of God.'

• Ini;ally that sounds preDy good, un;l you begin to meditate over the

concept and begin to realize that if you define the Holy Spirit as the ac;ve

force of God, you reduce Him down to wind, or rain, or storms, or any other

force of nature, such as electricity.

• The Holy Ghost is not merely an "it." It is not a mindless contor;on or force.

It is referred to correctly as "He".

It is dangerous when we rob Him of His personhood, because when we lose sight

of His personhood, we lose sight of His personality. A force is mindless and has no

intelligence at all.

• It is controlled by whatever contrap;on you build to house it. God is

intelligent! He is an all wise, all knowing, omniscient God, that already

knows what we are trying to figure out.

• He is a sovereign God, having all power, auspiciously reigning and ruling in

the heavenlies. When He manifested Himself in the earth realm in our

behalf, He moves as the Holy Ghost. "Don't be confused O' Israel, the Lord

thy God is one Lord, and beside Him there is no other!"

The first thing the book says about the Holy Ghost, "In the beginning God created

the Heaven and the earth, the earth was without form and void, and darkness

covered the face of the deep, (Look!), the spirit of the Lord moved upon the face of

the water.."

• The first thing that God wants you to know about His spirit is that it moves!

When it shows up on the pages of history, it says, "I am in ac;on, I am in flight!"

There is no way that you can then be filled with His spirit and not move! You are

going to move!

• I don't just mean in physical gyra;ons and chill-bumps, but I mean move in

regard to change! To take ac;on! To progress! To flourish!

• If the Spirit of God comes into your life, you will never be able to stay like

you were when you got it! It will move you!

It brings to life the personality and character of God. One of the great dilemmas

that God has ever had is communica;on with man. In Genesis it said, The voice of

the Lord walked through the garden in the cool of the day, calling for somebody

who wasn't even listening!

• Communica;on has been of paramount dilemma for God because; How can

He convey the magnitude of His feelings to us! God is a God of passion,

capable of intense feelings, He is not just a force, He is a God of feeling! He

is jealous! His name is Jealous! He's a loving God, and yet when He got

angry:

• There was no word that the Hebrews could find to depict the anger of the

Lord, so they called Him "wroth" which means "anger with fire" or we

would say, "anger plus", when God got upset, He was Hot! Furious!

Inflamed! The breath of His nostrils cometh forth as fire! And when He

loves, He loves madly! Passionately! Intensely!

It has always been difficult to find some way to make His disciples know exactly

how He felt, and for this cause, He talked through illustra;ons. Pain isn't pain un;l

you feel it! Jesus says, "I want to make you know how I feel!"

Abraham! "......Take now thy son, thine only son, and take him up on Mount

Moriah and liV up a knife, place his body on a wood sacrificial offering and get

ready to burn him up." "Get ready to raise your knife to slay your son, and then

you will begin to understand the magnitude of the sacrifice that I am going to

make to reconcile man to God!"

Hosea! "You have saved yourself!" "You have kept yourself for a chaste virgin!"

"I've got a wife for you!" "Go to the red-light district on the corner of FiVh and

Main!" "I want you to meet your bride, she's standing on the corner, waving at the

cars!" "Marry a pros;tute, a hooker, a tramp!"

• ".....And as you struggle to change, to love, to embrace, to nurture, to

culture somebody that's looking at somebody else, then you will know I feel

trying to love you!"

• "As she disgraces you, and embarrasses you, and you have to go and buy

her back off of the auc;on block, purchase her off the slave table, buy back

what was yours in the first place, and redeem her whom you have chosen,

then you will begin to get some kind of empathy for what I feel loving you!"

One thing that Satan has understood about God is; how much He loves you! So,

when Satan really got ready to get on God's nerves, he didn't use himself to vex

God, he used man!

• For there is one thing that is indisputable in the heavens, and that is, "God

loves us!" David said, "What is man that thou art mindful of him, or the son

of man that thou visiteth him, for thou hast made him a liYle lower than the

angels, and yet you have crowned him with glory and honor!"

• He said, "I don't see nothing special about him! He's not as strong as an

angel! He can't move from one area to another like the angels move! He

doesn't have the power, force, nor the magnitude, and yet there is

something about him that Your mind is full of him!"

• God is so in love with you that He says that you don't even have to bring

Him an offering, just bring Him praise and it will mean the same thing!

• He just says, "I want it to come out of your mouth!" "I want it to be your

voice!" "I want you to open your mouth and tell Me how good I am!"

Satan says that if he is going to get next to God, then he is going to take what He

loves, and get that to take what He hates, which is sin, and then Satan is going to

take what God hates and put it in what He loves and create a dilemma for His

emo;ons!

• For if He looks at what He hates, and tries to kill it, He will have to kill what

He loves. If He looks at what He loves and tries to save it, He will have to

save what He hates, and so he put God in a dilemma.

• If God would have reacted properly to sin, then He would have killed man!

If He would have reacted the way He wanted to man, He would have saved

sin!

Satan put God in a dilemma that made God Walk in the cool of the garden, telling

man, "You're in a mess, but just be s;ll, I'm going to work everything out!" "I got

to fix this!"

• "No, Adam, the fig leaves won't do it, just shut up" "I'm going to work this

out for you!" "....For his right hand and His Holy Arm hath goYen Him the

victory!"

• Salva;on is of the Lord! God did it all, by himself! It wasn't your church,

preacher, doctrine, dress code or your morality, God did it all by Himself,

because He loves you!

• "It is His good pleasure to give you the kingdom!" He wants to bless you

abundantly!

He told His disciples, "I will not leave you comfortless, I will come to you. I will

pray the father and He will send you another comforter....." "I will come to help

you!" That's what the Holy Ghost comes to do in your life, that is to help!

• If you are over-taxed, over-loaded, stressed out and up under burdens and

pressure, the Holy Ghost is come into your life to help you!

• He didn't just come for your entertainment, your reputa;on, to make you

sing beDer, or to preach beDer, or to build your ministry, or to build any

ego;s;cal self-made ideology in the earth, when the Spirit of God moves in

your life, He comes to help!

If you are pressed above measure and beyond strength, it is because you have not

ac;vated the power of God in your life. Because when God's spirit begins to

operate in your life, you've got so much help that demons begin to tremble hell

gets frustrated, because you got Help! Look at somebody and say, "I got some

help!"

That means that if you don't get around to helping me, don't feel too sorry for me

because, I got some help! That means, whether you help me or not, like me or

not, with me or not, support me or not, I'm s;ll going to be basically all right

because, when you put me down, He'll pick me up, stand by me when the goin'

gets rough! I've got some help that's with me right now! I've got help!

"For the Spirit helpeth our infirmiIes.....for we know not what we ought to pray

for as we ought, but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us...!" You know, you

can't hardly get anyone to pray for you anymore! You tell somebody to pray for

you and they just mumble a liDle prayer! When I ask you to pray for me, I want

you to wrap up in sack-cloth and ashes, s;ck your face in a corner and talk in

tongues for an hour and a half, I want some real prayer!

• I want you to know if I ask you to pray, then understand that all hell is

coming against me and it is going to take more than a liDle

extemporaneous, sanc;monious, religious prayer!

• Demons are trying to assassinate us! We are trying to do spiritual warfare

and I need some help! Somebody say, "HELP!"

Paul told Timothy, "...When my hour came to trial, no man stood with me,

notwithstanding the Lord stood with me!" People that I thought stood with me,

forsook me, but the Lord stood with me! "He helpeth our infirmiIes..." Our

weaknesses, you know, those things that we don't admit that we have, the things

that we are obligated to act like we don't know anything about, those are the

infirmi;es that he helps!

• I know you don't need any help, but, if you ever did, the Spirit of God

would help you! But I know you have got it together and you don't need

anything!

• You don't have any infirmi;es, and you are super-spiritual, but just write

this down for whoever you might need to witness or minister to who hasn't

grown to the point that you have grown to, and tell them that when they've

got an infirmity, God's got some help!

The spirit helpeth our infirmity, because some;mes when we get down to pray,

we don't even know what to say! Prayer has almost become a manipula;on for us

to give God His orders for the evening!

• But there comes a point that even the most skillful of us become

exasperated and try to control God. We break down and say we don't know

what we are doing, what to ask for, what to do, how to instruct you, so we

say, "Lord, do what you want to do!"

• Then the Spirit itself kicks in, "...with groanings that cannot be uDered!"

With intensity that is not languageable! With a level of passion that cannot

be expressed! With inar;culate sounds! Groanings! Wailings!

Few men have ever tapped into what the Holy Ghost is really doing, and when

they did, they became radical, and they began to say, "Howl, ye heavens, and wail

ye earth.......!" For they had ;ed into the presence of God!

• "Oh that my head were waters and my eyes were rivers of tears, then would

I not weep both day and night for the daughters of Israel that are slain. Is

there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then is not the

health of the daughter of my people recovered?" "Send for the women of

mourning and let them take up a wailing for death has climbed into our

windows...!"

• This genera;on does a lot of shou;ng, but we don't do much wailing! But

when I look at the condi;ons of our world and society, it makes me want to

take up a wailing! When I see eleven- and twelve-year-old boys standing

before Judges in courtrooms and ge]ng life sentences and don't even shed

a tear, it scares me to death, and I want to take up a wailing!

• When I was a liDle boy it was common for liDle boys to be scared to walk up

to a corner where a group of grown men were standing, but today men had

beDer be scared to walk upon a corner where a group of kids are standing!

Somebody needs to take up a wailing!

• "....Groanings which cannot be uYered."

"And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the deep..." One transla;on

said, "The Spirit of the Lord hovered, ( brooded, like a hen does over eggs)," It laid

itself, festered, boiled, bubbled, wailed, groaned, with the process of deliverance!

• It set up a crumbling in the earth realm! "Deep calleth unto the deep...." I

am going to tell you something. If we ever quit playing with the Holy

Ghost, and really ;e into some real spiritual power, it will make you

strange.

• You may not fit into the clique or the club, you may not get invited out as

much, they might not call you on the phone, but if you ever ;e into the

heartbeat of God, you will take up a wailing!

We haven't seen real church, not as long as we are playing poli;cs and games,

figh;ng one another, not loving one another! Let me tell you something, "God

wants to do something in our lives that will make hell tremble, but we have got

to ?e in to the power of God!"

• When God steps over a mess, He'll hover and brood over it un;l He changes

it! I praise Him for being the kind of God that can step into an earthly,

fleshly situa;on and say, "Everybody else might leave you, but I am going

to hover over the top of you un?l you get a breakthough in your life!"

Touch somebody and tell them, "He stayed with me!"

He stayed with me! Hovering! Groaning! How many of you have ever been in a

labor room? You can bring a Doctor and put her in the bed beside another

woman, and you can't tell the difference, one from the other!

• For though the educated one might speak in twelve different languages, and

graduated from Yale or Harvard on the dean’s list; in the throes of labor you

don't get intellect, you get groanings, moanings, and wailings!

• I don't care what their educa;on or color, there are some things that we

react to just the same! In order to birth something, you have got to be able

to get down and wail and lament before God, then God's anoin;ng is

commiDed to delivering you!

• God said, "Before I let you go down, I'll lock my legs in labor, and wail un?l

you are birthed into the kingdom of God!" He wailed for you!

That's why the enemy didn't kill you, cause every ;me he came in like a flood, the

Spirit of the Lord liVed up a standard against it! It wasn't your intercession, prayer

team or prayer partner, or prayer book, five steps to prayer, ten steps to a

blessing, twelve steps to prosperity.

• It was the Holy Ghost groaning over your troubled soul! Somebody give the

Lord some praise! I dare you to give Him praise! I dare you to liV Him up! I

dare you to give Him the glory! The Lord is worthy for every victory and

success in your life!

If it had not been for the Lord that was on your side! Touch somebody and tell

them, "I'm s;ll going!"

• "I didn't have the Eveready baDery but I'm s;ll going!"

• "I been through the storm and the rain, but I'm s;ll going!"

• "I had to cry, but I'm s;ll going!"

• "The Holy Ghost prayed for me and look at me, I'm s;ll going!" Somebody

give Him praise!

"He that searcheth the hearts, knoweth what is the will of God, for HE maketh

intercession for the saints, according to the will of God!" He has searched your

heart! I will tell you why you must seek Him. It is because He is the only one who

really knows what is wrong with you!

• When you get ;red of calling people, and you finally run out of phone

numbers, and decide they don't know what is wrong with you or them, and

they can't help you much less them, and you finally lay out on your face and

say, "Lord if you don't help me, I can't stand the storm!"

• "You know what is wrong with me, you have assessed me from beginning to

end, my damages, accidents, incidents, casualIes and crisis, my personality,

background, I.Q., my mentality, and you added up the sum total of

everything I can do and be, and I've got to follow you because you are the

only one that can fix me, and how to bless and strengthen me, and if you

don't help me I cannot stand this storm!"

• "I need you!" "As a hart panteth aVer the waterbrooks, so panteth my

heart aVer thee O God...!"

• I am not coming to church just because I want to come! Not for the

building! Not for the singing! Not just for the preaching! I'm coming because

I need you! I need you, Lord!

Hovering over my life, You have assessed my damage! Hovering over my life, You

have examined the intrinsic issues of my heart!

• Hovering over my life, You have known what I cannot ar;culate or express!

• Hovering over my life, You have touched what no-one has touched, and

reached what no-one has reached!

• Please sir, don't just chill me! Don't just thrill me! But help me! Not my

reputaIon, help me! Not my marriage, help me! HELP ME WITH ME!

You've got all those fancy, cute prayers, "O' thou God of the universe...." "Most

profound, auspicious potentate of the ages...." "Into thy presence we now come,

embarking upon the journey of the excellency of intellectual exuberance, as we

convey the magnitude of our intrinsic thirst for Your glory......" WHEN YOU GET

THROUGH TRYING TO RAZZLE-DAZZLE HIM, HE ALREADY KNOWS!

I came to tell you something! The Holy Ghost is already on the case, and He is

going to hover over you un;l He works it out. He is going to hover over you un;l

He separates the firmaments that are above the waters, from the firmaments that

are beneath the waters!

• He's going to hover over you un;l He takes that muddy confused situa;on

in your mind and heart and says, "This goes over her, and that goes over

there, This is how you are going to make it, and this is how you deal with

people, and this is how you deal with pressure, this is how you deal with

stress!"

• He's going to hover over you un;l HE accomplishes what He said He would

do in you! And down in the deepest part of you there is a groaning, deep

calling unto deep, at the noise of thy waterspouts, (I'm not talking about

flesh, a liDle prayer clinic, not something you learned in a workshop,)

• I'm talking about labor pains and travail! I'm talking about God is intense

about your deliverance! I'm talking about taking up a wailing in your behalf!

I'm telling you that God is commiIed to geJng you out of this!

You know what we had beDer go back to? We had beDer go back to that old

fashioned Holy Ghost anoin;ng! Let's put our cute clothes in the closet! Since all

hell is breaking loose and Satan has got you on the hit list, and he is trying to

completely destroy and pulverize you, this is no ;me for you to try to get a trophy

for "Mirror, Mirror, on the wall, who's the fairest of them all....."

• You ought to see how the saints come into the service. It makes you want

to say to them, "Did you come to get an award, or did you come to get a

breakthrough?" "Do you want a trophy, or a healing?"

• "Are you trying to work out a business deal, or are you trying to get a

breakthrough fro your heart, home, and life?"

• Touch somebody and tell them, "Excuse me while I praise the Lord!" That

means you can have the trophy! You get the award! I didn't come here to

look preDy! I came here for a blessing! I need a miracle, and I need it

tonight!

I dare you to praise Him like you mean business! I dare you to praise Him like you

have nothing to lose! I dare you to praise Him like you are going all the way! Put

your 'cute clothes' in the closet and give God the glory!

• I want the devil to know that this means war! He is aVer your marriage,

your house, your children! This is no ;me for you to sit back and be cool!

You had beDer go to war against the devil!

• The devil doesn’t know who he is fooling with when he comes against you!

You are not in this fight by yourself! "Greater is he that is in you than he

that is in the world!"

• Touch about three people and tell them, "The anoin;ng is upon me!"

Hovering over me! LiVing me up! Strengthening me! Travailing! Wailing!

Crying out! Groaning!

• The Spirit of God is in Rhema! He's going to push me out of here! God is

going to break a struggle over you tonight! Open your mouth and speak out

the praises of God!

• God is going to have the last say about this problem! He is going to have

the last say about what the devil has been telling you! That bad report!

Your finances! Open your mouth and let Him speak! He's God all by

Himself!

"Out of your bellies shall flow rivers of living water......" Not spuDer! Not trickle!

Not drip! God wants to flow out of your belly! He wants to deliver you!

• I feel Him breaking stress and pressure! There is a spirit of groaning

hovering over your head! A spirit of deliverance hovering! A spirit of liberty

hovering right over the top of you! God is delivering you!

• Somebody just stepped from the outer court to the inner court! Somebody

just stepped into the Holy of Holies! Somebody just stepped into the

presence of the Lord!

• Somebody just moved into that area where sickness and depression can't

go! Where stress can't go! You wouldn't need them nerve pills, something

to get up with, something to go to bed with, if you would just open your

mouth and begin to praise God!

• You don't need a drink; you need to praise! You don't need a cigareDe; you

need to praise! You don't need a lover; you need to praise!

He wants our churches, homes, and our marriages back! Some of us are working

for the Lord, doing the Lord's work and we have let it get on our nerves so bad

that we have lost our rela;onship with the Lord we are working for!

• WE need to go back to your first love and begin to bless and praise God!

Nothing that you are worried about is as important as your rela;onship

with the Lord! Don't let the devil trick you out of your place with budgets

and businesses, rehearsals and mee;ngs!

• You need to go back praising and worshipping him! There was a ;me when

you just loved God! You didn't care what ;me the service started or ended,

you didn't care who was preaching, who was singing, we didn't have to

spend 5000 dollars on adver;sement to get the old saints to come to

church!

• If they just heard there was a mee;ng, they wanted to be there!

Noah, having survived the flood, comes to the other side, does not know where

to go or how to progress. He needs a sign from the Lord. He says, "I can't go

forward, I'm sending a dove first!" Spirit of God, go before us!

• Don't let us make another decision ;ll you go before us! We will sign not

one contract ;ll you go before us! We will not take one job, ;ll you go

before us! We will marry no-one ;ll you go before us!

• I don't know where, but I'm sending you there, and if you don't say it is all

right, then I am staying in my place! He stays in the Ark and he waits, as the

dove which is a symbol of the Holy Ghost.

• Goes out in search of a place to land, and finding no place to rest the sole of

his foot, he returns back to the one that sent him, weary, mouth empty, for

he has found no place to rest his foot.

• Symbolically, it reminds us of the spirit of the Lord that began to move in

Genesis chapter one, and verse three, upon the face of the deep, searching

for a place to rest his foot.

• All through the Old Testament the Dove flew, looking for a place he could

rest. He came upon the prophets, spoke through them, liVed up from them,

looking fro a place where he could rest.

• From Daniel to Jeremiah, Obadiah, Zechariah, Amos, and Malachi, he

searches for a place he could rest. Seeing many men, blessing many men,

flowing through and touching many men, abiding with none, comes back,

found no-one that he could rest upon!

• Then aVer a rest, He goes again, looking, a dove, The Christ, the anointed,

the Messiah, looking for someone, The searching God, the intelligent God,

the wailing, weeping, groaning God, searches.

• A dove that is set free from the window of the ark flies through

dispensa;ons, ages, and prophets and priests, flies over kings, flies from

tabernacles to temples, res;ng on none and then finally coming to the

Jordan River, and down in the chilly Jordan River that flows into the Dead

Sea, represen;ng our sins flowing into the Sea of Forgeiulness, The Dove

says, "I have found Him whom my soul loveth, the one that I can sit

upon......

The Bible said that when Jesus was standing in the Jordan River, that a sound

came from heaven and said, "This is my son in whom I am well pleased, and the

spirit of God descended upon Him like a dove, and it rested on Him!"

He went into the water as Jesus, but He came out of the water, Jesus the Christ,

the anointed one! Because the dove RESTED ON HIM!

The devil was angry and set an appointment in the wilderness. If there is one

thing that the devil doesn't want you to be, that is to be anointed! He intended to

tempt Him un;l he got that anoin;ng away from Him, but what the devil didn't

know was that when God's anoin;ng comes upon you, "No weapon that is formed

against you shall be able to prosper!"

Devil, it won't work!

Do you know where you stand with God?

If you have never made Jesus the Lord of your life, then you are separated from God by sin. You are the reason God sent Jesus to the cross. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” God loved you so much that He gave His only begotten Son for you.

Second Corinthians 5:21 says that God made Jesus, who knew no sin, to be sin for us. Sin was the reason Jesus came to earth. He died on the Cross and went to hell for one reason: to pay the price for sin. Once that price was paid, Jesus was raised from the dead, triumphant over Satan; and the sin problem was taken care of.

God does not hold your sin against you. The only thing keeping you from becoming a child of God is failure to turn from your present world and your present god, which is Satan, and make Jesus the Lord over your life.

When Jesus paid the sin price for you, He was your substitute. Heaven has it recorded that you have been set free. It is as if you yourself died on the Cross 2,000 years ago. But that doesn’t mean you will automatically go to heaven. Even though God sent Jesus to pay for your sin—even though He holds nothing against you—you can still go straight to hell. Why? Because you have not made the choice to receive Jesus as your own personal Lord and Savior, to accept His sacrifice as yours. You have a free will. You have the right to choose your own destiny; God will not force you to receive salvation. The choice is yours. You can go straight to hell and God will not lift a finger to stop you. He did all He is going to do when He sent Jesus into the world.

Your choice is set before you.

If you do choose to make Jesus your Lord, God will receive you as His very own child. You will become part of God’s family. He will be your Father and you will be His child. This is not just a theological idea; this is a fact. It actually happens. Jesus actually walked the earth as a man. He actually went to the Cross, died there, was raised from the dead and is alive today, seated at the right hand of God in heaven.

When you become a Christian—when you become born again—you take on the nature of God, your heavenly Father. The nature of sin and Satan is death; the nature of God is life. Jesus spoke to the people of His day and said, “Ye are of your father the devil” (John 8:44). To accept Jesus as your Lord causes you to turn your back on your father the devil, or on “the god of this world” as Satan is called (2 Corinthians 4:4). You take on a new Father, a heavenly Father; and you are born again—not physically, but spiritually. Your spirit is reborn in the likeness of God.

You see, you are a threefold being: You are a spirit, you have a soul (mind, will, emotions), and you live in a body. Jesus referred to this in a conversation with Nicodemus (John 3:3-7).

Jesus said to him, “You must be born again.”

Nicodemus replied, “What do you mean? Do I have to go back again into my mother’s womb?”

Jesus answered, “No. What is born of the flesh is flesh. What is born of the Spirit is spirit.”

Being born again is a spiritual rebirth. You are born of the Spirit of God. The Holy Spirit was sent into the earth to carry out the new birth. When you make Jesus the Lord of your life, the Holy Spirit comes to indwell you and causes your spirit to be re-created. According to 2 Corinthians 5:17, when you accept Jesus as your Lord, you become a new creature, or new creation; old things pass away and all things become new. As far as God is concerned, at that moment, you stand before Him as a brand-new person. You are reborn from sin and death to righteousness and new life. That is a fact.

I John 5:1-4 says, “Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God…. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”

I want you to realize what happens the moment a person makes Jesus Christ the Lord of his life. In the eyes of God, he becomes a world overcomer. Sin no longer reigns over his life. Sin is no longer his lord. Jesus is His Lord and he can live above the satanic forces in the world.

After Jesus was raised from the dead, He stood before His disciples and said, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth” (Matthew 28:18). Then He delegated that power to His people. He said, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15). What is the gospel? The good news that God is no longer holding your sins and trespasses against you.

The Bible gives some specific instructions that you are to follow in order to become a Christian, or in order to be born again. Look at Romans 10:8-11:

“…The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.”

Jesus said, “Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out” (John 6:37). No matter what kind of sinner you are, no matter what you have done, you can go to Jesus and He will accept you. Once you go to Him, then He will cause you to be born again. He will re-create you, and that sin which has been plaguing you will be a thing of the past. It will be gone. You will be accepted before God as if you have never sinned!

To be born again, you use your mouth and you use your heart. First, you believe in your heart that God’s Word is true; then you confess it with your mouth because you believe it.

I want you to realize one very important fact: You don’t confess you are saved because you feel saved. Feelings have absolutely nothing to do with salvation. Let me give you an example:

Suppose someone says to you, “I went to the bank this morning and deposited $1,000 in your account.” How do you know they actually did what they said? You don’t believe they did it because you feel $1,000 richer, and you don’t doubt them just because you don’t feel any different. Your feelings really have nothing to do with it. If that person’s word is good, you will believe him. If his word is bad, you won’t.

When your salvation is involved, you are relying on God’s Word—and God doesn’t lie. He means what He says. If He said it, then you can believe it. He has said that if you believe in your heart and confess with your month that Jesus is Lord, you will be saved. You don’t base your salvation on the way you feel. You base it on the pure, unadulterated Word of Almighty God.

God’s Word is the only evidence you have that you are saved, but that is all the evidence you need!

Several days or weeks from now, you might not feel saved. You may begin to wonder if you were ever really saved to start with. You will have doubts—Satan will see to that! But when those thoughts and feelings come, just go back to the Word of God. You will see that it still says the same thing. God never changes and His Word never changes. It is still just as true today as when it was first spoken. People may try to convince you that it doesn’t work. Temptations may come to convince you that it didn’t work. Doubts will come to your mind. But all those things do not alter the fact that God’s Word is true.

Jesus said, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). The moment you make Jesus the Lord of your life will be the moment you have a desire to live, instead of a desire to die.

These changes are available to you, today. God is right there, ready to accept you, ready to change you. You don’t have to live in sin any longer. You don’t have to live a defeated life any longer. You don’t have to be anything except God’s child. You can walk the road of life victoriously with Jesus as your Lord and Savior. You won’t have to take a back seat to Satan again. You can be the head and not the tail!

I want you to join me now in praying this prayer for salvation. Don’t just read it; make a conscious effort to speak these words from the very depths of your being. When you finish this prayer, you will be born again:

Heavenly Father, in the Name of Jesus, I present myself to You.

I pray and ask Jesus to be Lord over my life. I believe it in my heart, so I say it with my mouth: “Jesus has been raised from the dead.” This moment, I make Him the Lord over my life.

Jesus, come into my heart. I believe this moment that I am saved, I say it now: “I am reborn. I am a Christian. I am a child of Almighty God.”

Now, thank God for making you His child. Colossians 1:12 says, “Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light.” You have just been made a partaker of an inheritance from God. You have just inherited the kingdom of God!

Speaking of God, the next verse says, “Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have the redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.”

You don’t have to wait until you die to receive your inheritance. You are a child of God right this very moment, and you can receive all that belongs to you right now! 1 John 3:2 says, “Beloved, now are we the sons of God.” You have been delivered from the darkness into the kingdom of God.

Jesus said, “Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom” (Luke 12:32).
