Searching the Scriptures with Deacon Matthew 4-25-24
Turn to Jeremiah 13:20-23
Jeremiah 13:20-23
King James Version20 Lift up your eyes, and behold them that come from the north: where is the flock that was given thee, thy beautiful flock?
21 What wilt thou say when he shall punish thee? For thou hast taught them to be captains, and as chief over thee: shall not sorrows take thee, as a woman in travail?
22 And if thou say in thine heart, Wherefore come these things upon me? For the greatness of thine iniquity are thy skirts discovered, and thy heels made bare.
23 Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? Then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.
In this section, God tells Jeremiah to lift up your eyes to the North towards the Assyrians that has control of the Jewish Territory aswith ten tribes lacking Judah and Benjamin and where are the flock of his children is disappearing to the Assyrians and the Southern tribes was attacked by the Babylonians to repeat the mistake the northern tribes made.
God is no respecter of person and we will be punished one of two ways either for disobedience to Hell at the white throne judgment for the lost and at the judgment seat of Christ for the saved.

We can strive to change to be like Christ and become a captain of the army and chief over every tribe but sorrows will happen if the child is going to Satan but joy comes to the saints by believing Jesus is the Lord and Savior.
