Living Sacrifices to God

12 I beseech[a] you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your [b]reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Serve God with Spiritual Gifts

3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. 4 For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, 5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; 7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; 8 he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

Behave Like a Christian

9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. 10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; 11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; 12 rejoicing in hope, patient[c] in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; 13 distributing to the needs of the saints, given[d] to hospitality.

14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. 16 Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.

17 Repay no one evil for evil. Have[e] regard for good things in the sight of all men. 18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. 19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. 20 Therefore

“If your enemy is hungry, feed him;If he is thirsty, give him a drink;For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.”

21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

La nueva vida en Cristo

12 Por el amor entrañable de Dios os lo pido, hermanos: presentaos a vosotros mismos como ofrenda viva, santa y agradable a Dios. Ese ha de ser vuestro auténtico culto. 2 No os amoldéis a los criterios de este mundo; al contrario, dejaos transformar y renovad vuestro interior de tal manera que sepáis apreciar lo que Dios quiere, es decir, lo bueno, lo que le es grato, lo perfecto.

3 En virtud del don que me ha sido otorgado me dirijo a todos y a cada uno de vosotros para que a nadie se le suban los humos a la cabeza, sino que cada uno se estime en lo justo, conforme al grado de fe que Dios le ha concedido. 4 Pues así como nuestro cuerpo, que es uno, consta de muchos miembros, y cada uno desempeña su cometido, 5 de la misma manera nosotros, siendo muchos, formamos un solo cuerpo en Cristo, y en ese cuerpo cada uno es un miembro al servicio de los demás. 6 Y puesto que tenemos dones diferentes según la gracia que Dios nos ha otorgado, a quien haya concedido hablar en su nombre, hágalo sin apartarse de la fe; 7 el que sirve, que lo haga con diligencia; el que enseña, con dedicación; 8 el que exhorta, aplicándose a exhortar; el encargado de repartir a los necesitados, hágalo con generosidad; el que preside, con solicitud; y el que practica la misericordia, con alegría. 9 No hagáis de vuestro amor una comedia. Aborreced el mal y abrazad el bien. 10 Amaos de corazón unos a otros como hermanos y que cada uno aprecie a los otros más que a sí mismo. 11 Si se trata de esforzaros, no seáis perezosos; manteneos espiritualmente fervientes y prontos para el servicio del Señor. 12 Vivid alegres por la esperanza, animosos en la tribulación y constantes en la oración. 13 Solidarizaos con las necesidades de los creyentes; practicad la hospitalidad; 14 bendecid a los que os persiguen y no maldigáis jamás. 15 Alegraos con los que están alegres y llorad con los que lloran. 16 Vivid en plena armonía unos con otros. No ambicionéis grandezas, antes bien poneos al nivel de los humildes. Y no presumáis de inteligentes. 17 A nadie devolváis mal por mal. Esforzaos en hacer el bien ante cualquiera. 18 En cuanto de vosotros dependa, haced lo posible por vivir en paz con todo el mundo. 19 Y no os toméis la justicia por vuestra mano, queridos míos; dejad que sea Dios quien castigue, según dice la Escritura:

A mí me corresponde castigar;yo daré a cada cual su merecido—dice el Señor—.

20 A ti, en cambio, te dice:

Si tu enemigo tiene hambre, dale de comer;si tiene sed, dale de beber.Así harás que su cara le arda de vergüenza.

21 No permitas que te venza el mal, antes bien, vence al mal a fuerza de bien.
