Good Morning!
Ephesians 4:25-31
25 So put away all falsehood and “tell your neighbor the truth” because we belong to each other. 26 And “don’t sin by letting anger gain control over you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27 for anger gives a mighty foothold to the Devil. 28 If you are a thief, stop stealing. Begin using your hands for honest work, and then give generously to others in need. 29 Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them. 30 And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he is the one who has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption. 31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of malicious behavior. 32 Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.

It is very important for those who belong to God to understand that it is our responsibility to lay down the old and pick up the new. That means we change our attitudes and behaviors. God transforms our desires, our character, and our nature, but we must change our behavior. As we lay down the past and pick up the new we are laying down evil and picking up good. God will give us all the tools, but we must put them into action by the way we live our lives. God will not make us do anything; He will only give us the direction, desire and power to do so. Philippians 2:13 tells us, “For God is working in you, giving you the desire to obey him and the power to do what pleases him.” Once transformed by the power of Christ, we are given the desire and the power to do His will. But we are the one who must put it into action. We take the step, we say the words, and we give to the needs around us. If we say we belong to God, but do not change our behavior, we do not fully understand the purpose God intends for those who love Him. Move forward into the power given to you by the One who died for you and let the world see that love given to you by the way you live your life.
