Psalm 30

The Blessedness of Answered Prayer

A Psalm. A Song (A)at the dedication of the house of David.

30 I will extol You, O Lord, for You have (B)lifted me up,

And have not let my foes (C)rejoice over me.

2 O Lord my God, I cried out to You,

And You (D)healed me.

3 O Lord, (E)You brought my soul up from the grave;

You have kept me alive, [a]that I should not go down to the pit.

4 (F)Sing praise to the Lord, you saints of His,

And give thanks at the remembrance of [b]His holy name.

5 For (G)His anger is but for a moment,

(H)His favor is for life;

Weeping may endure for a night,

But [c]joy comes in the morning.

6 Now in my prosperity I said,

“I shall never be [d]moved.”

7 Lord, by Your favor You have made my mountain stand strong;

(I)You hid Your face, and I was troubled.

8 I cried out to You, O Lord;

And to the Lord I made supplication:

9 “What profit is there in my blood,

When I go down to the pit?

(J)Will the dust praise You?

Will it declare Your truth?

10 Hear, O Lord, and have mercy on me;

Lord, be my helper!”

11 (K)You have turned for me my mourning into dancing;

You have put off [e]my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,

12 To the end that my [f]glory may sing praise to You and not be silent.

O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever.

Te glorificaré, oh SEÑOR,

porque me has levantado

y no has dejado que mis enemigos

se alegren de mí.

2 Oh SEÑOR, Dios mío, a ti clamé

y me sanaste.

3 Oh SEÑOR, tú has hecho subir

mi alma del Seol;

desde la fosa me has vuelto a la vida.

4 Canten al SEÑOR, ustedes sus fieles; celebren la memoria de su santidad.

5 Porque su ira dura solo un momento pero su favor dura toda la vida.

Por la noche dura el llanto

pero al amanecer vendrá la alegría.

6 Yo dije en medio de mi tranquilidad: “No seré movido jamás”.

7 Tú, oh SEÑOR, por tu buena voluntad estableciste mi monte con poder. Pero escondiste tu rostro,

y quedé turbado.

8 A ti, oh SEÑOR, invocaré;

al Señor suplicaré:

9 “¿Qué provecho hay en mi muerte cuando descienda a la sepultura? ¿Te alabará el polvo?

¿Anunciará tu verdad?”.

10 Escucha, oh SEÑOR, y ten

misericordia de mí.

SEÑOR, sé tú mi ayudador.

11 Has convertido mi lamento en una danza;

quitaste mi vestido de luto y me ceñiste de alegría.

12 Por eso mi alma te cantará y no callará. Oh SEÑOR, Dios mío, te alabaré para siempre.
