HEALING ALL… 4-29-24
Acts 10:38 (NKJV) …how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
As we continue to look at the heart of God, we see in this verse that God was working, through Jesus, to bring healing and good to humanity. Jesus was anointed by God, with the powerful Holy Spirit, to go and heal. He also showed us that healing is good. I do not know about you, but when sickness comes against me or someone I love, I never see it as a good thing. I never say, “God must be trying to teach me something through this.”
No! We have an enemy of God who is coming against us, and God has given us His Word and the blood of Jesus to fight him and defeat him. In Revelation 12:11 it says, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” We overcome the enemy by the blood of our Savior, and by His Word being in our mouth, and spoken by faith. According to Hebrews 4:12, God’s Word is as sharp as a two-edged sword!
We need to sharpen His Word, speak it through our lips, and put the enemy to flight in our lives. Do not ever underestimate the power of the Word of God on a believer’s lips. You have the power of God within you. Use it today!
Confession: God’s Word resides big within me, and today I make a quality decision to use it and to speak it. As I speak His Word, mountains have to move. God’s Word is powerful as I speak it by faith.
COME, LORD JESUS, COME
4-30-24
Isaiah 65:17 (NLTSE) “Look! I am creating new heavens and a new earth, and no one will even think about the old ones anymore.
Can you see it? A new heaven and a new earth that is so amazing that we won’t even think of this old one. Now that should get our priorities in line. You see, God our Father has blessed us with so much in this life and there is nothing wrong with these blessings. But if all of this life is going to pass away, and the new world that God has in store for us is so beyond words, then we need to set our priorities in order.
Too often we become so earthly-minded, and so flesh ruled, but God wants us to live by faith and walk by His Spirit. You might ask, “How do I walk in the spirit? Is this some twilight zone type of walking?” No, to walk in the spirit means to put the things of God first, to set our affections on things above and not on things of this earth.
All that we see and all that we have will one day be replaced with something so much better. This world, as C.S. Lewis states, is just a “shadowland” of what is to come. What is to come is so beyond words that this verse says that we won’t even remember this world.
So, today, make a decision to think God’s thoughts and think God’s ways and you will find out that His ways are so much better than our ways and His thoughts are so much better than our thoughts.
All of this world’s system is falling apart because people have tried to raise themselves up and to call themselves gods. But we Christians, know so much better, that the earth is the Lord’s and all that is therein. So look up, our day of total redemption is upon us and soon we will hear the voice of our great God saying, “Come on up to your true home”. Amen, come, Lord Jesus, come.
Confession: The King is coming and I want to be ready to meet Him. I set my mind and my heart to look to the eternal and not to live so earthly-minded. I want to hear my Lord say at His return, “Well done good and faithful servant”.
