Dear Partners World Wide, I bring to you my (Dr. Diana Brevan) ponderings this today. May the Lord richly bless you and yours as we go right into to today’s ponderings prayer and the Word.
SWORD OF THE SPIRIT
Ephesians 6:17 (NKJV) And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God
Now, here we are with our offensive weapon. You see, every piece of the armor that we have put on so far has been defensive. They have protected each part of us. Now we are given a sword: The sword of the Spirit. The Bible tells us that this weapon is the Word of God.
As we get the Word into our heart and speak it with our mouth, as we take God’s Word and make it sharp within us, it causes the enemy to flee. Look at how it states it in Hebrews 4:12-13, “For the Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.”
God’s Word on our lips in faith will destroy the works of the enemy in our lives, and the lives of the people that we are praying for. God’s Word does not return void, it always accomplishes what it was set out to do. When we pick up this powerful weapon, the Word, we need to believe it in our hearts and say it with our mouths, and we will see the manifestation of what we are saying.
This is the way we got saved. Look with me at Romans 10:8-10, “But what does it say? ‘The Word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart ‘ (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
So today, get His Word within you, and then release it with your mouth. You will see the devil, and his demons, flee as you use your sword in a powerful way.
CONFESSION: Today, I speak God’s Word and I watch as the devil flees. God’s Word never returns without doing what it set out to do, when I speak it by faith.

HIS WORD HAS BEEN TRIED
Psalm 12:6-7 (NKJV) The words of the LORD are pure words, like silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. 7 You shall keep them, O LORD, You shall preserve them from this generation forever.
When we use the Word of God, we can have confidence that it will do what it says that it will do. How can we know this? Because His Word has been tried. I like how this verse says it: It has been tried in a furnace, purified seven times.
We need to realize that God is not a man that He should lie. In fact, it is impossible for God to lie! There is no falseness in Him. So when God gives us His Word, we can count on it like we would count on the word of a trusted friend. So, you might ask, what is our part? Our part is to believe it! God wants us to take Him at His Word.
We see in the book of Hebrews that God was upset with the children of Israel, because they did not believe Him. They saw all the miracles that He did for them, and yet they tried Him over and over, and that generation did not see the Promised Land. And so it can be with us. If we do not take God’s Word and get it deep within us, then we will come to places in our lives where we do not trust Him to help us.
God has given to us the ability to choose, and when we choose to do it our way, or to not get God involved in a situation, He, in His great love, will let us go through it. But if we will wise up and know that His Word has been tried, and that we can put our trust in His Word and watch it come to pass, it will come to pass.
Great faith believes that what the Bible says is true. Oh that sounds so simple and when you think of it! When we can become like a child and believe our Father, we will see great things come to pass in our lives. So let His Word get deep within you, and see great things done for His kingdom!
CONFESSION: Let God be true and every man a liar. God, my Father, has given me everything that His Word has stated. I believe this, and I am a doer of the Word!

OVERCOMERS
Revelation 12:11 (NKJV) “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
God wants us to be world overcomers! As we see in the Word of God, this is possible. So if God wants this and it is possible, how do I go about being the world overcomer that God says I can be? Well, this verse shows us how.
The first step to being an overcomer is to be under the blood of Jesus Christ. You might ask, what does that mean? Do I need to pour His blood on me every day? No, this means that when you ac-cept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, you are placed under His blood.
There is no work in this. It is all by faith in what He has done, not by what we have to do. Too many times, Christians try to work for their salvation, but we need to remember that it is a free gift through accepting what God has already done for us. It is not by works that we are saved. It is by faith.
The next part of this verse talks about the word of our testimony. Faith always has a good testimo-ny; a good report. When you start speaking God's Word like it is true, like you have it already, you will see a drastic change in your life. Jesus did this over and over in His earthly ministry, and we need to do the same thing.
We need to find out what the Word says about what we would like, and start saying that Word in-stead of the situation. This will make us a world overcomer. Abraham believed God before He ev-er saw his promise fulfilled, and believing for a child when you are a hundred and your wife is in her nineties is pretty amazing!
So today, look to Him and believe. Look to the finished work of the cross and thank God that you do overcome by His blood and His Word.
Confession: I am a world overcomer because of the blood of Jesus and the Word of God! I do not love this world, or the things of this world. My love is for God.
